Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002
My time at Adobe was only a year after the place was built, so we expected some new apartment bugs. The place seemed nice and the layout was roomy.
However, despite how nice the kitchen/living room was, it was a complete pain to keep clean. My roommates and I spent way too much effort trying to keep the tile floors and the kitchen clean. It was also ridiculously cold and drafty in the winter, made worse by the tile in the living room.
With the exception of the gas stove, everything they used to build the place seemed shoddy and poor quality. The walls are really thin so you can hear everything inside and outside the apartment.
The grounds were maintained pretty well, but management seemed oblivious to any requests we made or complaints. Parking was a hassle for anyone who didn't buy a covered spot.
The issue that pissed us off the most was the lack of broadband internet while we were there. When we signed the lease, they said it would be coming sometime in the fall of our lease, then spring, then we got a notice that the management had decided not to permit DSL. This problem has probably been resolved since, but was completely unacceptable for us because we were 5 UCD students and we couldn't all be using dial up.
Living at Adobe was a hassle and I heard that not much has changed since. I moved into an older, more established complex right after and was much happier.
