Not worth the price

Living at Adobe started badly. When we moved in the cleaners were still here even though it was our assigned day to move in, and it was 5:00 PM. We left so they could finish up. I think finishing up meant packing up because when we got back the dishwasher had things in it, there was mold under the sink, the shower curtains were moldy and all appliances were dirty. They basically cleaned whatever was visible at first sight and left everything else. We ended up cleaning all of these things ourselves. When we told managemnet about it they were nice though and sent maintanance to have a look.

The carpets were dirty when we moved in and seem to get dirtier even though we didn't allow shoes in the apartment. The kitchen floor is ugly and every piece of dirt is visible, it needed to be swept twice a week to stay clean. The counter tiles get dirty easily and for the most part are easy to clean except the grout lines.

The complex was noisy. We could hear our neighbors every time they opened and closed cabinets and closets. Other neighbors had parties all the time and we ended up calling the cops on them multiple times. Our downstairs neighbor complained to us and the office multiple times because we "walked too loudly." there are a large number of families here and their kids run in the parking lot all the time. Expect to hear yelling and screaming at 7:00 am Saturday because their parents send them out early and keep them out late. And no one seems to care, but walking in your apartment is apparently worse.

Parking is a joke. If you want guaranteed parking you have to pay $25 a month for a covered space that isn't even that close to your apartment and because guest parking is so bad people will park at any curb (even red ones) at night and on weekends.

Part of the "luxury" of these apartments is that everyone has their own bathroom. Just don't expect everyone to get a hot shower in the morning. The water heater cannot accomodate everyone and by the time the third person showers in the morning it is lukewarm at best. It also takes forever to heat back up. And for unknown reasons will be cold at really odd times like 1:00 am when no one has used hot water in hours.

Management was nice and requests were taken care of quickly and if you get one of the bedrooms with the 2 closets and dressing area you have a lot of storage even though there are no linen or coat closets. The grounds are relatively nice and it is close to Safeway. But none of that makes up for how expensive this place is. Especially for what you get and how far you are from campus. If you choose to live here expect to take the bus and hear your neighbors.
