Great place to live, BUT....

Alder Ridge should be called, "All Da Rats"!!
I'm surprised none of the previous reviews mentioned the HORRIBLE mice problem Alder Ridge has.
Negatives:
The mice community live inside the walls. I live in a downstairs 2bed/2ba apt located in building 3. My roommate and I have the joy of listening to the sounds of mice scurrying across the crawl-space above the ceiling. I've tried to time each distrubance, but the time ranges varies. They can be heard anywhere from 2am to 8am or from 5pm to 11pm.
The worst part is that you can hear them digging (claws scratching) feverously for hours; trying to find a new entry way. It's no fun when you get awakened around 3 o'clock in the morning. Then you can't go back to sleep in fear of thinking,"is this the day when they've clawed a hole in the wall'"
The two popular entry ways for mice are under the kitchen sink and underneath the kitchen stove. It doesn't matter if your apt is spotlessly clean, mice always find reasons to come inside. Pest control comes and sprays poison every 3 months. But it seems that the mice have developed a resistance. The only evidence the mice leave behind is the foul smelling odor of their decomposing bodies on the glue traps. It's very noticeable since the smell stinks up the whole apt. Numerous complaints to management have been made. But their response is,"there's nothing we can do. It's like when there's an ant problem, you never can truly get rid of them." How could they make such a ridiculous statement''!! At least dead ants don't release toxic odors.
Positives: The maintence man is extremely helpful. He always removes the dead mice for you so you won't have to. He also replaces the many glue traps you'll need that are sprinkled with poison pellets. Be prepared to see 1-2 (dead) mice per week.
Overall, the apartment ammenities are great. Every room in the house is spacious. The W/D hook-ups are fantastic. And since the complex is in So. Davis, it's very safe and quiet here. If we didn't have the mice problem, Alder Ridge would be a great place to live. At first, I didn't mind the high price for rent. But now, the rent is way too high to be staying in a mice infested place. Our leases will not be renewed since we're tired of complaining. If you love a pest-free environment, please DO NOT move here!!!.....DO NOT EDIT THIS REVIEW!!!

It's true ,the mice problem has been a nuiscence. The common laundry has washer/dryer also not working properly.Property Manager who never calls back or return calls and not giving good reception and always has a rude nature. In total it has gone bad.But the apartment is good for living if these problems are not there.

Are you in apartment 311? I might be moving into this apartment complex. Are the problems solved? Please post again. I have tried to come to your apartment because I will move into 311 in July. Every time I come by to talk and maybe see, nobody answers the door. Thanks.

I've lived in Alder Ridge for 8 years and have never had a mice problem. Perhaps it is specific to one of the buildings.
