One of the worst renting experiences I have ever had

At the onset the place was very nice, I was renting with four other friends and we really loved the place. Problems began with the security and the towing about a month later. We had received parking permits to place in our vehicles a couple weeks or so after we moved in. About a month later my roommate's car dissapears. We really thought it had been stolen. We contacted the security guard who told us that he had had the car towed because it didn't have a visible parking permit. He said this even though he had seen and talked to us before and knew we lived there. Also, the permit had been stuck on the windshield with tape from the inside so it couldn't have fallen off or been covered. We found out the next morning at the towing place that not only had the car been towed but it had also been broken into that night and the stereo and all of my roommates CD's had been stolen including some books. But what was so messed up was that the thief had also stolen the permit off the windshield. What was the security guard doing? This had to have happened around 9 o'clock, we were upset. We made a big deal and the management came over and apologized including the security guard, but they neevr refunded the $155 towing costs. Anyways my car was "stolen" quite similarly a week or two later. Basically the same exact thing happened to me. This time I went to the security guys apartment and asked him why he had my car towed. I mean we had four cars that should have been very recognizable particularly after the previous incident we were also parked in our designated slots, and finally why couldn't he have just knocked on our door or called to see if our car was ok. Also, couldn't he tell the car had been broken into? He said that he was just doing his job and that I needed to be more careful, apparently his job is to tow cars and not to protect them. I was obviously upset but couldn't get out of the lease so I had to bear it for the rest of the year. The kind of funny part is that my roommate who had first had his car broken into and towed, replaced his stereo with a really high-priced one, and no kidding like a week later it gets broken into and the same night i guess gets towed. He had a yellow sporty car too that was like very obviously a residents car, but the thief again steals the permit, and my roommates car is towed and no reimbursement is given although he gets a sympathetic apology from the maangement and the sceurity guard. He basically sub-leased the place and moved. They must have some quota with the tow truck company cause they are always parked around the complex. Also, we had tons of problems with ants and parking. See, they had no problem towing our cars but they fail to tow the cars blocking our spaces. The whole year was like this. Oh, and don't expect your deposit back unless you go to court, take really good pictures of the place for evidence as soon as you move in. They figure you are college students so they will take advantage of your lack of renting experience. My recommendation is to do alot of research about where you rent before you rent.
