the unit was in poor condition upon arrival: no stove coils to cook on, dead baby bird on balcony, bathroom sink counter had what appeared to be calcium deposits, bathtub rimmed with black mold, inside toilet bowl lay irremovable, crusty urine stains, bathroom floor corners piled with greyish and viscous dust globules.

Poor management: hardly ever in office. For instance, during the winter I came back from class at 10:00am to pay the rent, but they were not there even though it clearly says on their window that their office hours are from 9am to 5pm. Trying to call them on the phone is a lost cause as well. Since they are hardly in their office, I either get the answering machine or the sound of a modem connecting to the internet.

Poor maitenance: Toilet keep clogging up, called maitenance personnel, they said that our problem wasn't an "emergency", and refused to fix our problem.

My theory: the unit was probably in poor condition because the apartment staff and maitenance staff don't consider cleaning up the apartment an "emergency". The lack of contact through phone or by walking over to the office in person may be because the apartment staff is allocating most of the day to lunch breaks or relaxing in the clubhouse. I read another review on this apartment complex saying how the clubhouse was rarely accessible. This relates to what I mentioned previously about not being able to contact them often...they are in the clubhouse for little tea parties and surfing the internet or some other unproductive activity.
