Parking: Parking is adequate.
If you live next to an entry way, then parking isn't too bad. Street parking is usually pretty good but neighbors can take up more room than necessary. Wet grass at nighttime makes me walk around anyway.

Noise level: Noise is a serious problem.
I could hear my neighbors talking, laughing, walking, opening doors, flushing toilets, doing dishes, coming inside the building... all inside my unit and at all hours of the day! It doesn't keep my up but it gives me little sense of privacy.

Grounds: Poor landscaping and upkeep.
It's depressing here. Plain white walls in the hallways with old shabby carpets are depressing. It often is stuffy, poorly lit, and you can smell folks food. The courtyeard is nice especially at nighttime so I do recommend that view, but all other features inside the aprtment don't add up. I wasn't shown the apartment I would be moving to hwich in my case was a good thing, but the cabinets don't all close properly. Courtney said it was becuase of all the layers of paint. The kitchen and living room are one except for the flooring which is shabby. There isn't enough tableroom there! Mold is a problem especialyy since I have low blood circulation so I'm always cold, there's no way i'm opening the windows after showering espcially in winter!

Safety: I did not feel it is safe.
I've found cuts in my bike lock twice, replaced it, then had it the bike gone one morning. Now I keep my bike upstairs, which SUCKS. although I do not fear my own safety here, I would stay away from the train tracks after dark though that is my favorite time to jog.

Construction: Falling apart. Shoddy materials and workmanship.
I don't blame maintenance. I think it's the cutting corners decisions by the office. But I do see the new girl hanging around and smoking near enterances.

Office staff: Not helpful. Generally a pain to deal with.
They'e liars! This week the internet went out in the entire building. When I asked when it would be done by, they gave me a bunch of stuff which generally was, "We don't know." I was at home with the flu and had to go elsewhere to work on a computer to meet deadlines for school and work. What pissed me off besides how it tool 4 days to get it back is that I saw the SBC truck gone but when I called the office they told me they were still working on it and would be here all day to work on it. Then they said it shoul be running and it wasn't. They switched it to, "They're still running the diagnostics on it." I wasn't rude but they didn't seem to put effort into answering my questions anyway. Even with me just wanting to know if I should wait until later or go out for the net before it got cold out!

Overall: Below average. Not the greatest place, but not the worst.
You get what you pay for. If you're on a budget, they reduced the rent to $740 which is CHEAP for Davis. Go for it. But if quality to you means anything, or like me, you're ready for a little bit more, look elsewhere. However it seems like other places aren't that great either but cost more. Now that I'm graduating, I'm ready to kiss Americana Arms good-bye and never look back.
