First of the rent is ridiculous but you know that going in.

You would think that perhaps your extravagant rent is going to pay for things like windows that close, heaters that actually heat, or air conditioners that actually blow cool air.

That's not where your money goes.

It goes to plant new flowers and maintain the pool and office.

Prospective renters do not be fooled! That is where the spending stops...nothing is done to improve the quality of life for the renters who actually live here.

It's all done to draw in new suckers because very few people renew their lease here, many break their lease and incur the extra cost rather than stay in this place.

Furthermore, the high speed internet is neither terribly speedy or reliable.

The internet company is some little no name run by people on the west coast.

So if your internet goes down on the weekend (and it will....repeatedly) you are stuck until the weekday when you get to play middle man between the management and the computer tech person.

Neither are particularly helpful and the whole process is a giant pain in the butt...frankly I'd rather pay extra to have SBC come in here with some DSL.

Expensive but at least I'll actually be able to use the internet!
