If you're an undergrad who wants to party, sure.

To be fair, CH isn't *all* bad. But when you weigh the pros and cons, the answer is clear. Let me break it down for you:
PROS:
1. Unlike most apartments in Davis, CH is pretty much rat/mouse/roach/insect-free. I had a few tiny spiders here and there, but nothing to cry about.
2. The office staff is friendly and helpful.
3. The fitness room is a nice feature, except everyone wants to use the treadmill, so if there's someone on it, you have to keep checking back until it's free.
4. I've never had an issue with parking. I always find parking, but on busy nights just not right in front of my door (walking a few feet won't kill you).
5. The bedroom is pretty big in the 1-bedroom.
CONS:
1. No dishwasher.
2. Sinks are not porcelain, so they chip and crack and rust no matter how clean you keep them.
3. Carpet smells weird from all the pets no matter how clean you keep it.
4. Neighbors are ridiculously loud and obnoxious. They will blast rap music from their cars at 3 am, have parties in the parking lot right underneath your window all night, and play video games with the volume on high.
5. There is no security patrol. If you have a complaint after hours, you're expected to call the police, who never show up anyway.
6. The windows are basically there for decoration. They are so thin you can hear EVERYTHING going on outside (even normal conversations far away).
7. If there are any families or grad students, they're few and far in between. Most are undergrads who don't mind the noisy environment and/or contribute to it.
8. Whoever designed the kitchen (the entire apartment, in fact) is an idiot. There is NO counter or storage space. I'm dead serious. This makes cooking a drag.
9. The parking lot is a mess. It has deep cracks, huge pot holes, and random road bumps. It makes driving in and out like an amusement park ride (except without the amusement).
10. The A/C and heater are a joke--the lady who showed us the apartment actually told us it was central--yeah, the unit is located in the middle of the apartment, so I guess it makes it "central." Otherwise, it's REALLY loud and takes forever to heat or cool the apartment.
11. Expensive for what you're getting--old crap.
Not the worst apartment complex in Davis, but no where near the best. If you're stuck with CH, don't worry about it, but start looking for a new place right away.
