I hope this review will help expose some of the questionable practices at Cascade Apartment and provide current residents (hopefully) with some basic steps to get your deposits back smoothly.

A. Helpful ('') suggestions on getting your deposit back:
------------------------------------------------ owner, Tom Cross, of Star-Crossed Inc (Star-Crossed
Properties) is of highly questionable integrity, at best. Do not trust him. In my many years as a renter, I have always
received my full deposit back. Although I cleaned my apartment thoroughly--in fact it was in better condition
than I received it -- Tom Cross deducted from my $500
deposit for the cleaning of the whole apartment. The trick
is that they will do the walk through and say everything is
fine and then send you the deposit deposition later on.
1. I suggest that you bring all documentations of conditions apartment (initial conditions) to the walk through. 2. Have them thoroughly inspect all necessary items and then have them [manager/owner] SIGN document stating what they found unsatisfactory after the
walk through. Hopefully, this would prevent them from claiming "unsatisfactory condition/cleaning" in generality.

B. Major construction during lease term:

Tom Cross sceduled the balcony (all second story units) to be redone during my stay at Cascade (2005-2006). There was insufficient notice. The job required the bedroom floor be be entirely ripped out (break floor concrete and
replace beams running the entirely length of bedroom out to the balcony). So I had to moved out into the living for one week. Of course, during the day you do not have access the apartment due to the construction. They made a mess of the bedroom walls and did not clean up after the job. There were no appropriate compensation for this. However, after many complaints Tom cross sent out to tenents movies passes, coupons for Woodstock pizza and a Star-Bucks gift card. Some transparency and honestly in notication of the extent of the construction work so that tenants can properly prepare for it would have been

C. Read reviews carefully...
