questionable ethics

Owner Tom Cross is, as others on this website have said, of questionable ethics. Be prepared to lose most, if not all of your deposit. He will charge excessive cleaning fees, even if your apartment is clean and then, judging from the condition of my apartment when I moved in, not have it cleaned at all. Moreover, he cannot seem to keep property managers around for any length of time. He had three during my time there (7/08 9/09). I can only imagine he treats his employees much like his tentants. He will try to force you out by noon at the end of your lease, despite the fact that you have until midnight. He gives late notice to enter your apartment, once even posting an old form to my door that was more than a year old. On another topic, the street noise from Pole Line is terrible if you live in the front of the complex and the noise from the dumpster being emptied at the nursing home is terrible if you live in the back. Tom is smart enough to realize that this property isn't very desirable, so he is willing to accept any breed of dog as a pet, large or small. But you'll pay for it--$500 of extra deposit that you will never see again and a monthly fee too. My dog was the only reason I moved here and I suggest that be the only reason anyone else lives here. The rent is a bit high too considering the condition and location of the building. When I moved (after my dog died) I got a bigger apartment with a pool and more & cheaper laundry facilities, in a much better part of town--for $150 less per month. But if you have a big dog and are having trouble finding a place that will accept that, check the place out.
