Eastlake has the best managment of any apartment complex I've ever lived in. The manager, Billie Bowen, is extremely attentive and caring; she has gone the extra-mile for me and I think she is this way with all her residents. Maintenence, and particularly Ramon, is also steller. I once broke my key in the front door lock and it took exactly 21 minutes for Ramon to let me in, remove the old lock and replace it, and leave me with a new set of keys. Eastlake also tailored a parking spot for me efficiently and with very little fuss. I'm really impressed how Billie seems to take resident concerns and suggestions to heart.

I love that the complex has relatively few units; I think this makes it easier to receive individual attention and for maintenece requests to be taken care of quickly. It feels very safe at Eastlake, and in this area of Davis in general--most of the surrounding area is quiet and upscale. My apartment is the largest one-bedroom I've seen in Davis, and I'm really impressed with how quiet the complex is. I'm a grad student, and I think there's a high proportion of grad students and professionals here because it is always pretty quiet. I live on the first floor and even with three sets of stairs around (two outside, one inside the townhouse above me), I hardly ever hear any noise.

The insulation in my apartment seems to be really good, too ... my apartment stays between 62 and 70 degrees almost all year round with minimal heat or air. (PGE bills average about $32/month. I don't even have a land line since Cingular has such great coverage here, and I've been pretty happy with the Cable modem; it seems comparable to anywhere else in Davis. Never had a problem with ants or any other insect/pest/mold/whatever.

I'm very glad to be here this year and have signed my lease for another year.
