Please note before reading: I lived in Glacier from 2001 to 2003, and I lived on the Saratoga West side, so this stuff might not apply to everyone!

Good points: Glacier shares a parking lot and management with Saratoga West, so you get all the amenities of both complexes. This was useful because we lived closer to Saratoga's pool and exercise room. The exercise room had cable t.v. and good equipment, and the pool was a good side, with a nice jacuzzi. Our apartment was upstairs and was bright and cheerful. The four bedroom apartment came with a vanity area on one side (sink and cabinet) which was nice for getting ready in the morning. There is a closet with all shelves on both sides of the apartment for extra storage. The apartment came with a washer/dryer which worked well. Three of the four bedrooms are pretty good sized (not huge, but okay.) The entire complex is pretty quiet, even on the weekends. Of course, Davis is a college town so you will get the occassional party and loud noises, but these weren't a problem and there was rarely a party that lasted past one. The grounds are pretty and well-kept. There is some covered parking available, which is nice during rainy seasons. The apartment is right by a park and located near shopping centers.

Bad points: Now, some people like to hear everything that could be annoying, so it here goes. A parking spot can be impossible to find if you come home past 9:30 or 10. Even street parking is gone (sometimes) if you get home past 11. In the four bedroom apartment, one of the bedrooms is a rectangle, and it's tiny. It's very hard to fit furniture in there and not make it look like it's bursting at the seems. The kitchen is pretty small and there isn't much cupboard space. Also, the place to put a kitchen table is small too, so you can't put a huge table in there. The smoke detectors go off constantly. Either they're very sensitive, or we all were just really bad cooks. If you tend to overcook things and make a lot of smoke (even steam), cover your ears. The carpet was dirty when we moved in... I doubt it had been cleaned after the pervious renters had moved out. I almost forgot... this might have changed since I lived there... you can't get high speed Internet unless you go through a small company which is really expensive. I had to use dial-up for two years!

I think that's about it. Overall, I enjoyed Glacier and would recommend it. k6tKKzmJrmATU2ap682S
