I live in a studio apartment at Lakeshore. The complex is across the street from a local grocery store and both the D and P/Q lines. Bus ride to/from campus is 12-16 minutes.

Parking: More than enough. No permits here, so you're friends can park without a hassle.

Noise: Sometimes I forget I have neighbors. It's very quiet here. If you're looking for a fun and social complex, this is not for you. If you want a place where you can sleep in and study in peace whenever you want, this is a great choice.

Grounds: Very pretty. You can throw a rock from the swimming pool to the lake. Literally! Stonegate country club is next door, you can rent paddle boats if you like.

Safety: As a girl living alone, I feel pretty safe here. There isn't a gate or anything, but I've never been bothered by anyone walking from the bus stop to my room at night.

Maintanance: All of my appliances were new or in good condition upon moving in. Nothing's been in need of repair so far.

Staff: The reception staff knew my name within days. Sometimes even my apartment number! Spooky. Sometimes they're a little phoney, but the staff is alright.

Price: I wouldn't recommend living alone here. It's getting more and more expensive. I'm definately getting a roommate next year.

Bonuses: A T1 connection! Very fast and reliable! More storage space than you could shake a stick at. Some cabinets in my house have never even been opened. There's an elevator for the handicapped and excesively lazy. I've never had any pests in the house, except for one fly and a spider or two.

Downsides: Expensive. They don't clean the hot tub in the winter. There seems to be a sea-foam green, sky blue color theme that I could do without. Good luck getting reception inside of your room (pretty common anywhere indoors in Davis).
