THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. THE STAFF PRETENDS TO BE NICE BUT THEY COMPLETELY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING. SOMETIMES THINGS GO WRONG AND THEY PRETEND LIKE THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON BUT REALLY THEIR JUST IRRESPONSIBLE. WHEN I SIGNED MY LEASE THEY NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT CONSTRUCTION AND WHEN THEY FINALLY DID GIVE US A LETTER GIVING US AN EXPLANATION FOR THE HORRIBLE NOISE AND MESS EVERY MORNING THEY SAID IT WAS GOING TO LAST FOR 1 MONTH. IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER A YEAR AND IT IS STILL GOING ON EVEN THOUGH I MOVED OUT. DO NOT LIVE HERE!

Maybe you lived at a different place than I did, but I found the staff at Lakeshore to be courteous, professional, and forthcoming with issues affecting the residents. Furthermore, your supposed ignorance of the renovations that have been going on at Lakeshore is YOUR fault: they have signs prominently posted apologizing for the noise and mess, and it's not like it isn't apparent that people have been working on the complex for quite some time. Furthermore, the notes they send stating that renovations will last approximately one month are meant for EACH INDIVIDUAL BUILDING, on which renovations DO typically last about 1 month. Perhaps in the future you should do a little more research before signing a lease and pay closer attention to your surroundings, rather than complaining after the fact about minor details that the rest of the tenants seem to deal with just fine. Besides, you rant about the renovations, yet your ratings indicate that you had more of a problem with safety, the grounds, and the staff, only one of which you barely mention. What was wrong with those aspects of your tenancy? Are you really that put off by the renovations, or is this a red herring for the thorn in your side that isn't exactly latent? Besides, you complain that "THE STAFF PRETENDS TO BE NICE BUT THEY COMPLETELY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING." These are two different issues. Are they unkind or inept? Which is it? It sounds like you enjoy ranting without backing up your arguments. Instead of insinuating some sort of deception on the part of the management, maybe you should educate yourself prior to launching into something you will end up regretting for petty reasons. Stop acting like a spoiled brat and deal with living on your own without mommy and daddy taking care of everything for you...time to grow up.

I too found the construction annoying ... when I signed the lease at the typical time in Davis (February for the September move-in) I was assured the construction would be finished by the time I moved in. When I arrived, it had only begun a month earlier, and was forecasted to finish by November/December. Their whole timeline was NOT as they advertised, which may not be atypical for any sort of construction job, but no less annoying for that. The staff often didn't bother to pretend to be nice to me at least, and most definitely were ALL inept with the exception of Rose. I don't quiet understand your fervent animosity toward the reviewer ... it is their opinion (and coincides in many ways with my own experience there) and I don't think they deserved such a scathing response. Unless you were one of the inept, unkind staff members?
