Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
This is my first year living here and it will also be my last. It's a little creepy at night because the complex is not well-lit. The apartments that are not remodeled are, well, just plain too old. Most of electric plug outlets do not have a 3rd prong, or a ground. Only the kitchen has the outlet that has ground. The tiles on the bathroom wall are coming apart. Insulation here is pretty crappy. It gets very cold in the room in the winter time and unbelievably warm in late summer. You can virtually feel the breeze from outside when standing next to a window. Oh, and there's a little bug/insect problem too. I catch a spider or two occassionally, but theres a lot of those little long pincher bugs; I found one on my bed last time!
There's a train that goes by here so you can hear it sometimes. The service and management here is overall very good; the staff is very friendly and quick to fix anything in the apartment. If there's a noise problem with your neighbors, they'll help you with that too. The laundry room is new and requires a key to access, so only residents can use it. However it costs like 2 bucks to do the laundry because everything is still so new.
Parking is overall pretty good. However, warning to those Honda and Acura drivers, cuz a couple of those cars here have had their emblems stolena and their car scratched. Overall, I give Parkside an above average rating because of its low cost and good management.
