I lived here for four years during professional school, and it was a nicy cozy place to come home to. It's not the fanciest but then again I was studying all the time and just needed a quiet home. I liked the built-in bookshelves and desk, and the bedrooms were larger than many in Davis. No dishwasher or separate eating space or central AC which was a pain in the summer but utilities were always cheap...$20 month for PGE. I used the pool on several of the hottest days and found it quite nice. They remodeled it a couple years ago. I did a decent amount of work when moving out and got all my deposit back with compliments from the management (it doesn't take much, just be sure to clean the tray under the burners on the range). Our unit faced 8th street and was right near the gate but even then I didn't think the noise was bad. Two bad things: I parked my car on the street (cul de sac) and it got keyed by some punks. Parking is difficult especially when coming home late - they do hand out more permits than there are spaces. The house on the corner of the cul-de-sac seemed to be running a daycare facility so there were sometimes kids screaming on the trampoline but closing the window did the trick. My cat enjoyed the place too but beware, there is a lot of traffic on 8th street so try to keep your cat indoors.
