I lived at Portage Bay for two years, and really loved it.

The apartments are a bit "dated" looking, but have lots of storage (so much closet) and everything works like it should.

My one bedroom was large, especially for the price, and the balcony was a dream.

I loved the West Davis location - surrounded by beautiful neighborhoods filled with mature trees, wonderful yards.

And fruit trees everywhere! From Portage Bay, you can walk up the street to the small shopping center with groceries, dry cleaner, movie rentals, and a couple of restaurants, so very convenient even if you don't have a car.

Plenty of parking.

Location is very safe (where in Davis isn't'), and I never witnessed any problems with car break-ins.

Management and maintenance are great, very personable and personal service.

I never had any problems with bugs or rats (inside or out).

I also had no problem whatsoever with noise (although I had a perfect location, on a corner, on Lake).

Overall, I highly recommend this place.
