I just moved in about a month ago and like this complex so far. The manager was nice enough to work on Saturday (the office is normally closed on weekends) so we could move in on a weekend. The maintenance guys seem nice but take a while to respond to requests. This is a small, quiet complex with lots of trees around (hence the name) so it's shady during the hot Davis summers. The pool is good sized and there is a beautiful barbeque area next to the pool that is free to use for tenants. Our apartment was clean and in good condition when we moved in. A couple downsides: the wait for maintence issues, only one parking space per unit, the kitchen in our unit is a little small, but the appliances were brand new when we moved in, and the size is pretty standard I guess. Upsides: quiet, great location, they allow dogs (apparently there's a 35 lb. weight limit, but there are big dogs that live here so I'm not sure how strict they are...), and the staff seems very friendly. I'm happy to live here. A lot of the other complexes in Davis couldn't hold a candle to this place and that's the truth.

I don't agree with your comment on the maintenance staff, I have lived here 3 years and the only normal thing here is the maintenance staff. My work orders always get done quickly and I have never waited more than 2 days for something to get repaired. Have you ever thought of maybe lots of people just moved in and out and there are probably more urgent repairs than yours. Give them a chance you will see.
