a terrible place to live

i think the other comments here pretty much sum up how i feel about the place. i'll just ad that, despite being a brand new apartment complex, the place is utterly disgusting. for such a large complex that is so spread out, you'd think they'd have more than ONE garbage can. and instead of having the usual big dumpster so you can throw large things in with relatively no effort, we have this trash compactor thing with a tiny little hole that you're supposed to throw everything into.

we constantly have puke in our hallway, and since no one cleans it, it stinks up the whole place. perhaps the biggest problem are the loud fratty boys and drunk hos that roam the complex every night, screaming up and down the hallways or trying to sing along to their favorite mtv songs. the place is obnoxious. it's infested with second year students who still think its the dorms. our neighbors leave their door open EVERY day, even when they're gone sometimes. i mean, are you waiting for people to just 'pop on by' or something' the result' we get to hear the every conversation and when they have parties, it's not exactly fun. sure, i like to party too, but at least i have respect for my neighbors.

oh yeah, and guess what the management came up with for this year's 'theme''' mtv, that's right. so everything was tailored to 'mtv' in some way or another. for the apartment valentines day party (as if that was necessary in the first place), we recieved a flyer saying 'jessica and nick mtv valentines party' or something like that. what did it say' oh, just that there'd be a 'kissing contest' and that 'girls are required to wear a swimsuit'. and the best part was the explanation, 'couples will be going under the covers in a bed in the office and the guy will put on lipstick and have to kiss the girl all over as much as he can, then they'll come out and we'll count the kiss marks to determine the winner!' this rediculous and sexist behavior might be appropriate at a frat party, or even amongst friends! but to have management actually organize rediculous stuff like this just shows the immaturity level around here.

and one more thing, the parking situation is completely insane. thankfully i don't have a car, but my three roommates all do. we are assigned one spot per apartment, and then you can purchase an additional two spots for $15 a month. of course, these spots are 'tandem spots,' meaning that they are right in front of one another. so if one person is parked behind another, they have to move their car so the other person can get out. its a pain, trust me. and then, of course, we CONSTANTLY have people parking in our spots, making things even worse. for a while, sterling said there was 'nothing they could do about it'. uhhh, if they have permits on their cars, and assigned spots, what is the problem with actually enforcing it! what it comes down to is people writing nasty notes on eachother's cars, and outright vandalism. the whole situation could have been alleviated had sterling had the sense to build a decent parking system into their way too expensive plan of a complex.

needless to say, i spend 99.9% of my time NOT here. and i'd advise any sane person to seek housing elsewhere
