DO NOT RENT HERE - MANAGEMENT DOESN'T CARE IF YOUR CAR GETS BROKEN INTO

I live at Tanglewood, another Sequoia property. My nice car gets broken into, I had not left anything out. My security system gets $100 worth of damage, my MP3 player gets taken out of my console. I check with the Davis PD and they tell me that there have been an incredible number of criminal incidents/break-ins at Tanglewood in the past year. So I write to Sequoia Equities and tell them what happened asking for reimbursement for my damages. They don't even give me the dignity of a response.

Terribly irresponsible management who are taking years to do anything about the crime problem. People come over from the trailer park and use our pool, and are probably breaking into cars and management does nothing about it. Leave me a comment if you want to share experiences by email.

I'm not saying that Tanglewood doesn't have it's problems, I've never lived there. But I have to say that you can't expect the management to reimburse you for theft any more than if you had your car broken into at the grocery store parking lot. Parking is always at your own risk.

To the original poster: you're just a spoiled brat who is bitter at the world for being a scary-wary place.

It is funny you would think the apartment managment/ owners would reimburse you for damage to your car. That is what car insurance is for and hopefully your "security system". If you want money from anyone it should be the makers of your security system, because it obviously didn't work. You can rent a garage at tanglewood to keep your car in if you are that worried. They also pay to have a courtesy patrol come around at night and watch the property. Cars can get broken into no matter where it is parked. It is possible to have your car broken into any day at anytime. I also think it is interesting you put the responsibility of taking care of the crime problem on managment as well. In a small mostly quiet town like Davis, it makes more sense that it is the POLICE DEPT who should take on that responsibility. What else are they doing. They sure aren't making sure the bike riders are following the rules of the road, so what else is there for them to do. Place blame and resposibility where it belongs, and maybe some of it belongs on you.
