Overprice

This place is a nightmare. It is OVERPRICE. I lived here on the year 2000 - 2001. We moved from southern california and needed a place to stay fast. This people take advantage of the situation. We signed up for ONE YEAR LEASE. $1950. And only 1000 sq. feet. And I can't wait to get out of here, kitchen is extremely small. You can hear people from upstairs if you don't mind that. I lived on the second floor. On the 10th month I start to scour the area for a Reasonable price and found a HOUSE, 2 bedroom and 2 bath for $1500 in Pleasanton 1700 sq. feet. and another in Dublin for $1450 3 bedroom and 2 bath at Dublin 1700 sq. feet.

After one year, Archstone offered to lower down to $1700. I said NO. And sure enough nobody would rent this place for that price for 6 months and they had to lower it to $1500 the price that I wanted. But I find that to be overprice for such a small place.

If you needed a place to stay fast, then this is it. BUT if you family, with children, do not make a mistake leasing like us for a year, get the least possible , 3 months or 6 months lease. You will find someplace better and bigger for the price. DO not unpack your belongings, nobody stays here long.

My current neighbor used to live here too, they said they rented the place at a teaser rate of $1700 and after one year, Archstone wanted $2400. They were OUT after that. This is after the whole building , ALL the renters MOVED OUT. And they are the only one left.

If you don't mind throwing your money and you are single this is the place for you. By the way, just because the location across the street is a shopping center, it is still not worth it, you won't have room to put your stuff anyway. Archstone excuse also is that they are across the street from SYBASE. NOT EVERYBODY WORK IN SYBASE. The whole city does not work for SYBASE.

When we were renting, they said HEATED POOL. Its a lie. They won't heat up the pool because electricity have shoot up.

If this company sells stock, DO NOT BUY. They do not know how to run a business. This place is losing money all the time. You don't need to be a high school graduate to know this place is a money losing investment.

After we moved out, couple of months later collection people called accusing us of NOT PAYING OUR LAST MONTH RENT. I was furious. They got my money alright. But they did not put it in their system. Good thing I have a copy. AND call the collection agency and told them the check number.

Here is another advice, ONCE you moved out, DO NOT OFFER To take your deposit, since its either $99 or $199. LET ARCHSTONE Clean the apartment. Its cheaper to have them do it than renting someone to do it. Archstone have maintenance crew in their payroll. I made a mistake of doing it, and they will FIND FAULT no matter how clean the place is.

I did not complain about the noise, nor did I complain about the wear and tear. Nor did I complain about the deposit. But here are some of the list of people complaining. That I saw on other website. remote control in the gym are always missing. DOG POOP everywhere. Garage door non functioning that their cars was BROKEN into. Some apartment were broken into and the management response is you should have your own rental insurance. NO heat on the pool even though this is an agreement when you sign the contract. Oh when I was there, somebody got arrested for illegal possession of firearm. Then there are some I saw that Sex Offenders living here ? or close by this area. Noise upstairs and noise downstairs small parking lot So if you consider that lame excuse, let the people judge. My only complaint was its OVEPRICE. So I bet that you work here and people are waking up that this apartment is not worth the price. By the way. it is CHEAP to have the apartment clean for only $199 or $99 that is the security deposit here. Since I presume you work here, how about offering to pick after other people's dog poop and in return you charged them $$$$$ . lets see if they are willing to do that. And by the way, most people who lives here are not from this country so pardon my grammar, we are not from this country, just regular people working , breaking our back to pay this apartment and waking up saying its NOT WORTH IT. By the way people, After we moved out found another place to live, we have not moved since. Still renting the same place, at 1700 square feet home, 2 bedroom, 2 car garage, big backyard and I am paying $1675 currently still far from $1975 which I paid in the year 2000. You guys will definitely find a better place than this. thats why the person who posted can only say one good thing, to her, the nice thing about Archstone is LARGE Kitchen. NOT !!

I dont work here, I live here. I've lived here for a year and a half and like I said, I'm relocating. I agree that you can rent a house for a cheaper price that's bigger with a yard and a garage but you haven't lived here in 8 years so its an unfair review. In the year and a half that I've lived here, I've never seen dog poop. Our building has a lot of dogs and all have responsible dog owners and I'm not saying it was as good when you lived here but again, you lived here EIGHT years ago. I can say plenty of nice things about this specific apartment. Every management person I've met with has been 100% nice. Nothing in our apartment has broken. The patio is large, the kitchen is large with ample counter space along with a breakfast nook, I love having a movie theater and a shopping center right across the street along with a safeway a few blocks down, you have two walk in closets, one in each bedroom, the bathrooms are well modeled with a lot of storage space. Every time I've had an issue with something (like people leaving trash in the garage) the management has fixed it right away. And its annoying that every time someone wants to leave a nice review, they get accused of working for that place. I am not now, nor have I ever been (LOL) an Archstone employee.
