You are absolutely right to dread the move out process. I just got my deposit "refund" today....$25! Out of $300! The apartment was cleaner when I left than it was the day I moved in. And don't get me started on the ant problem that I lived with for the majority of my time there - it was horrible! They charged me for steam cleaning carpet that should've been replaced a year ago when I moved in! They charged me, among other ridiculous things, for having hair & lint in the dryer. Having worked in the apartment industry for several years, I know what is expected in a move out clean & that is exactly what I did. In short, don't waste a full day cleaning like I did b/c they will keep your deposit anyway! And by the way, don't ask Suzanne for the phone number to the corporate b/c she "doesn't have it". Right...Don't get me wrong, Dublin is a beautiful little town. Just stay away from Cottonwood.

Maybe if you had been on the lease agreement Suzanne would have provided you with more information.

Just browsing this site looking for a new home, and came across this. I was thinking about moving in to these apartments. They are very nice looking BUT apparently the response above is very un-professional of the office staff. I am sure that the response had to be from office personnel when they are the only ones to know who is on the lease and who is not! In seeing the bickering above, I have now decided to look for something different. Regardless the first person to start this link may have not been a resident but I don't understand why you wouldn't give out a number to the corporate office unless you have something to hide behind. I feel in reading both of these responses, that this is not a place I would like to call home!

I just moved in, and I side with management. I don't call it bickering. They have every right to defend themselves here, ESPECIALLY against someone who is not even on the lease. Not being on a lease and living in a unit is hugely unethical and the management staff are well within their rights to be offended, let alone evict said tenant, which they could do. I've had no problems with management. The guy who posted this seems like a punk and probably didn't do as good a job cleaning as expected. If you're not sure, call and ask! I just moved from Amador (a sister property) and they flat out told me how hard it is to clean the place and get the full amount back. She all but said 'Don't waste your time' which I appreciate, because I didn't. In my experience all apartment communities take most of your deposit, it goes with the territory, get used to it kid.
