the apartment complex itself is okay, but the management people are not too helpful

We have been living there for six years. The apartment complex is quite nice, with a pool, a spa and a barbecue patio. The complex isn't that old (15-20 years), but from both the exterior and interior you can see the maintainence is mediocre, just enough to keep things in working order. The complex has its own maintanence crew members, with some of them living in the complex. Two years ago they repaved the parking lot with seemingly not the correct equipment (or experience) and made the pavement very rough and asphalt falling apart. As part of the renovation they also replaced the exterior walls of the complex, but the quality of work was not high. The maintanence crew however maintains the plants very well.
One of the major downsides of the complex is the management people. They are not so responsible and organized. For issues that require actions or response we had to follow up so many times with them. Otherwise, the issues would fall through. There seems to have little communication between various manangement people on duty, and issues that we brought up to one managment "agent" were not known to the other agents, and we had to keep visiting the office to "hunt" down the first agent. In addition, as mentioned by another reviewer, they are not forthcoming about the miscellaneous fees associated to the gargabe and water. The tenants are billed by a billing company "National Water and Power", and in the first month you will be charged $10 account setup fee and in every month $3.50 processing fee. Furthermore, on the rental contract, the trash fee is a flat fee. However it is a variable fee, and it has been constantly increasing.
On top of it, finding parking in the guest space is very difficult when we come home after 6pm or so. Each unit is assigned one covered parking space, and if you have two cars like me, and you come home from work after 6pm, quite likely you have to park on the street outside the complex. Also in the on-site laundry room one third of the dryers are not working properly, and there seems to have people not living the complex come to use the machines.
