I liked my Tour of the EmeryBay Apartments. I saw several websites with dramatic claims such as Dirty, Ghetto, Piss poor quality, so I had to see for myself.
I was supposed to transfer to our office in San Francisco, so Emeryville was a perfect location. Close to the city lower prices you know the drill. My visit included refreshments and a very warm welcome from what seemed to be the entire staff, maintenance, managers etc. It was kind of great that everyone was so happy. They showed me everything on the tour. including less travelled stairways (elevators used more often) everything was clean. We looked at Laundry facilities, and vacant apartments of my choice. EmeryBay made a great impression. It wasn't the newest community, but I wasn't interested in Luxury or high prices. Plenty to do there. And you park right under you building and there is plenty of parking for everyone and their guests. Now that was impressive! Too bad for me I didn't transfer after all. I spent alot of time looking at communities and I wanted to live at EmeryBay. If you get the chance pay them a visit, either some of these people are major liars or EmeryBay has really done a fine job cleaning up their act.

You are fool if there ever was one in this life, either that or a stooge being encouraged by the corrupt management. You were seduced by some cookies and some sales talk. Of course they were nice to you on the day you visited. What did you expect? No one would live here at all if they encountered on day one the stupidity and greed and, yes, attitude that you will experience starting on day two if you are dumb enough to move in. I address that comment not to you who has decided not to live here and knows absolutely nothing about the subject never having spent a night here but to anyone reading this note who is undecided. This place is a disaster. My plumbing has never worked properly. I am constantly annoyed and woken up by noisy plumbing in other apts and from people slamming doors and coming home drunk and walking around on the cheap wood frame & thin sheetrock construction at 2am, and from the constant unnecessary use of leaf blowers and lawn movers, and the endless repair projects necessitated by the crumbling concrete and rotting wood that this hell hole is made of. Year after year, every time it rains the stairwells, parking areas and walkways fill up with huge puddles. No one gives a damn. If you care at all about peace and quiet and cleanliness and safety look elsewhere.

Another screwy thing about this posting by a person who claims to know all about this place after a half hour's visit is the repeated pattern. Why whenever a negative posting appears after a month or more of silence does an immediate chorus of improbably complimentary postings directly attacking the negative one appear? It's happened several times. Do I detect the smell of a "manager" getting people to write phony attacks on people with legitimate grievances? To those who have trouble with simple logic (see below) no this is not also an attack. It is a defense of whoever wrote the original posting about the noisy conditions here. He's right. It is too noisy, and nothing is ever done about it.

To the various immature people (one of whom is openly anti----) who think that all comments directed against other people's bad behavior are racist:

I don't want to tax your limited collective intelligence but consider some things.

1. It is not racist for someone to say that noisy people woke him/her up at night, or whatever happened. It IS racist for YOU to say that this is a racist comment since there was no mention of the race of the people who were being noisy. You're the ones with racism on your brains.

2. Racists don't sleep any more soundly than non-racists, or tolerate annoyance better. If you pride yourself on your lack of racism and move in here and get disturbed repeatedly by the noise then you can lie awake at night congratulating yourself on what a non-racist you are but you will still feel just as tired all day at work or school and have a lousy day because you didn't get enough sleep. Then you can come home and have the same thing happen again. Very soon you won't care one way or another about race, assuming you ever did. You'll just want some peace and quiet.

3. The purpose of this web site is not to produce better people. It's to advise all people about what they can expect if they rent here. Unless you're lucky, deaf or a lush you'll run into more than your share of noise and related bad behavior regardless of your race or your position on racism (if you have one). If that's okay with you, move right in.
