I lived in Emery Bay across the street so the train noise issue would be the same: with double-pane windows, you can't really hear the track noise very much. The real issue is the train HORN because both these places are located at an intersection. It is VERY LOUD and they blast it about 10 times every time a train goes by, which seemed about every 20 minutes. I would expect that one of the apartments facing Hollis might not be so bad though-- similar to the Emery Bay apts facing Christie.

Despite the train, I would consider living at the Courtyards were it not for the high rent. $1410-1735 for a 1 bedroom''!! There is no chance I'd throw away that much money on a rental, however nice and new it may be. I might consider paying $1400, but I suspect that is a bait-and-switch. These are dot-com era prices. Is anyone getting a better deal than the advertised rates' Comments on rent anyone'

One other question: how is the interior sound insulation' For $1735 a month, I would definitely expect not to hear other people stomping around on my head and peeing in their toilets. However, I watched this place being built, and the residential units appear to be all wood-frame construction, so I suspect the noise issue to be no different than the typical apartment, unless they did something special for noise insulation.

Dont think so bro. I live 2nd floor and either the guy upstair is so fat or it was a thin panel btw us. In any rate, when he walks, the whole ceiling is shaking. Not so much train noise on the Hollins side though.

Can slightly hear the person above me and she certainly heard my stereo one time. I have had worse though, similar to what you describe. I suspect you are right on the money on the rent front, 2 beds are around 2 grand a month.
