It's the best of the choices

I looked around Emeryville for about 3 weeks before picking an apartment. It came down to Bridgecourt, Pacific Plaza, and Courtyards.
Pacific Plaza was nice, but kind of old and very expensive.
Bridgecourt had me at first, but I found out about the neighborhood (there's a reason why they're so cheap). More than half the building is Section 8 (low income). I went in the building, and boy, the residents didnt make a good impression. Rude, loud, and kind of scary. Cheap and big is nice, but for me safety and comforts come first.
So what's left is Courtyard. Beautiful place, new. It should be for the price they charge. It's loud too if you're near the train side. The leasing staff is nice but repairs take forever. I doubt they have any influence in how fast things are fixed (ie the pool hasn't been heated for ages!). But at the end of the day, it was a nice place, close to the freeway, and SAFE. That's about all you need, really.
