I PLAN TO SELL MY CONDO UNLESS ...

I have talked to numerous other owners that live here and one the problem comes down to one name. Perhaps because our general manager and director of security both have the same first name. The few times I attended an hoa meeting it reminded me of the episode of Seinfeld where a bunch of old petty seniors fight about nothing. The two most disliked board members have recently been replaced but I must admit that I plan to sell my unit if the new board can't be strong. The current managers need to be removed immediately and replaced with fresh honest professionals. Otherwise our dues are going to keep being raised disproportionately based on their personal agendas and attacks against opposition.
It is quite obvious that most owners don't actually live here and instead rent their condo. We need to bring all of these non-resident owners together to create lasting change for the coming years. Even then managers may need to be replaced again as normal turnover. Power mongering is often human nature and the only real government that works is honesty, clarity, and of course term limits. These managers prefer to keep everything in their little tight-knit clan and they have refused to have so much as a website. They want as much control as possible and do not want anyone questioning them.
Other than a half-dozen owners who can attend their little meetings, most of us just have to wait and find out what they are planning to do with our money. Don't even get me started on the landscaping project (a whole in the ground in which we keep poor money.) The PPP has the potential to be a wonderful community and that is why I invested here. We must encourage our new directors to think independently and when enough of us stand up we will tidy up and hire new employees to manage the office. Other that those based in the office just about every other employee is worth keeping. I m sorry about unloading here but this is been on my mind lately due to mail I received from other unhappy owners.
I cannot recommend the Pacific Park Plaza until things change.

Dues here are well below other facilities that lack pools and tennis courts, large security staff and beautiful grounds that PPP has. Also, PPP has fully funded all of its long term maintenance items like elevators, power generators, carpets and won't need to hit owners with big assessments like many other condos. On top of that, the board of directors recently relandscaped the front (gorgeous) with a fund of
$260,000 of which they spent only 65,000 to complete and returned the balance to the owners general funds with the work completed. Yes there a couple of noisy naysayers who lack vision but never miss a chance to gripe. Probably the best managed and financially stable condo assoc in the bay area. Some people are never happy, and don't want to be bothered with the facts.
