Fantastic facilities, great location

First the good: Facilities and grounds are very well maintained. Very litle noise.
The complex dates back to the 70's, so kitchens and bathrooms are a little on the small side. All units come with a separate storage locker, free parking, free cable, and free use of the gym, 4 swimming pools and 4 tennis courts. Over 1000 units spread among 6 low-rise (4-story) buildings. There is a casual car pool every morning into San Francisco, as well as chartered coach service. There is also a free local shuttle to Bart.
Renting from an individual owner is better (and often cheaper) than dealing with the management company, and beware of the junior one-bedrooms. They are often converted studio apartments and very small. Some try to pass these off as full one-bedrooms, at one-bedroom prices!
All in all, a very good value for the money, considering the area and proximity to San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley.
