in general it's an old place. We had mice coming through the walls through the kitchen cabinets... in a week we caught 5 mice, then we stuffed aluminum foil in the cabinet wholes and it helped a bit.. one rat visited , too :-) We lived there for 4 years.. just because it's pretty cheap and it was a convenient place, my husband worked around the corner. Other than that the bathrooms of course have a lot of mold and the place had termites. Once they came and sprayed the place, we had to empty out all cabinets.. it smelled bad for a few days my husband had headaches they didn't leave any information sheet how to handle the cabinets and everything afterward. we got refund for that though, I guess the management got scared..
The management itself were some unfriendly fellows.. When I was pregnant they painted the staircases, so we placed a fan in our staircase so that the fumes didn't enter our place which they did... One manager, wearing black knocked angrily at the door and said that was not allowed to have a fan out there. We were the only ones accessing that staircase so who would have been disturbed' Any how there is a lot more to tell.. Bad insulation, the wind came through in the winter sometimes as if there was no window at all... Heaters dusted the place. In the summer it got pretty hot, too. It's just as simple as it can get.. and your being treated as second class citizen, they probably think you qualify since you are renting with them ;-) Our direct neighbours were always very friendly and nice people.. Just decide for yourself;-)
