Converting to Condos

Was notified a month after move-in that this complex is in the process of converting to condominiums. Condo conversions are becoming increasingly prevalent in San Diego county. This process was initiated several months before I moved in yet, when specifically asked prior to move-in, the management told me they were NOT in the process of a condo conversion of any kind. Lied straight to my face! To make this even more insulting, I moved here because my last apartment complex was converting to condos. Angry' You bet!
By the way, this complex has a pest control problem. A month after move-in, the apartment was crawling with ants. The management did provide pest control service promptly when requested, however it's been 3 months and the ants are beginning to show-up again. One has to wonder if a regular pest control schedule is actually in place...or if they just wait for residents to complain on a "case by case" basis.
Wish I'd never even heard of El Norte Heights!

This is one of the issues that the city council should be looking at. Why are apartments being converted to condos? Where do the local hard working people go for housing?
