new management staff has ruined Hazel Ranch

I've lived at Hazel Ranch for nearly 3 yrs.. I liked it a lot the first two years, and had no serious complaints. The current owner bought the place several months ago, and it has gone downhill fast since then. The biggest problem is that the management staff is unbelievably rude and arrogent (at least to current residents). My guess is that they are really nice to folks who are apartment hunting. They are in the process of upgrading the complex, but I don't really care how "pretty" the apartments are if the management treats me with such disrespect. They've lied to me, they've continuously been unwilling to answer my questions or respond to concerns, and if that doesn't beat all, one night they backed into me (yes, actually my leg), while I was crossing the street. I yelled "hey" to get their attention, but they just put the car in drive and took off. They are so self absorbed, I wonder whether they didn't even know they did it, or whether they just didn't care.
I've also witnessed rude behavior to other residents. They can dress the place up, but the folks managing Hazel Ranch have no class whatsoever. One more thing...the security guard that used to make the rounds every night has been cancelled by our caring management (but we will all be charged much more to live there now- isn't it ironic').

I agree - I have lived here for about 2 years - never had a single problem with BRE, but FPI is horrible! I was home one day and a guy was on my patio - tearing it down! I never got any notification and when I called to ask what was going on I never got a call back. Numerous other 'miscommunications,' as the manager calls them, have occurred - which usually means nothing will get done. The biggest problem is the renovations, which are a joke, - my rent is $100 higher since I moved in- and what do I get? Windows where I can see the insulation, cracking plaster hanging from my ceiling (still not fixed after a month of complaining), exposed studs in my walls, and the metal debris from the 'improvements' that the construction workers leave on my patio and stoop. They even have been using my outside outlet to plug up their power tools - my SMUD bill was over $100 when it's usually $40! Run far, far away.
