When we first moved in, we were nearly run out of the place by roaches. The staff did move pretty quickly to get rid of them but they shouldn't have been there in the first place.
After a month,when it started getting warmer, we realized that our AC unit did nothing. The walls would get too hot to touch because it seems like there's no insulation. There were nights when it was still 100 degrees with the AC going on full blast. The heater doesn't work either unless you stand in front of it.
There are always kids running around unsupervised and screaming. The only pool that looks decent is by the office. The one by our apartment is always filthy. It was a home to a family of ducks at one point.
The laundry facility is a joke. They're always dirty and it costs way too much to do a full load.
You can hear everything that goes on in the surrounding apartments. The walls and windows shake every time a door closes. We've heard several fights. I double check the locks each night because I don't feel safe. Half of the windows didn't have screens on them when we moved in... They still haven't been fixed. Most of the "renovations" were done after we moved in. We also found out that they weren't going to be done at all, but they were still going to charge us the extra $50 in rent. That was a little tip the maintenance guy told us. All they did was paint the counters and cabinets - poorly. They painted two of our walls and gave us flat light switches. Not worth the $50...
Bottom line... If you want a crappy apartment in the ghetto, come live at Dover Park!
