Don't be taken in by some of the bizarre postings. I really live here, and I promise you I'm not a leasing agent from the Sonterra office.

This community is very, very well managed. They have a few people who have been here for some time and really have things running like clockwork. They really do care about the property and if you are happy.

Also, the rules are strict and actually enforced here, so the problems are kept to a minimum. It is all working, law-abiding people here. If you want to make lots of noise and tear the crap out of your apartment, go somewhere else - the management here won't tolerate it for 2 seconds.

It's also a comfort to know the complex meets current building and earthquake standards. It has a lot of nice safety features, including an intrusion alarm and a sprinkler system. Plus, they have enough brains to make everyone carry renter's insurance.

The thing I have really enjoyed is that the units are WELL INSULATED. You can't hear your neighbor flush a toilet, cough or shut a door. It's so quiet here at night that I sleep with my window open.

Pest control here is good, too. I've only seen a couple lost, disoriented ants in my kitchen since we moved in. Our old place had so many we were spraying constantly, and I think I've got brain damage from it.

This complex is a little difficult to find, being on the eastern edge of Orange County, but it is well worth the trip. Sonterra is a refreshing change from most of the other apartments in the area.

Yeah, the rent is high but I feel like I'm actually getting something for it here.
