Avoid it if possible

I came across your email and decided to add y gripes since I have been ripped-off by Beach Cove too.
They emptied my pockets of a cool 700 bucks when I moved out. The wordings included stuff like - smoke in carpet, burnt counter top, repainting etc. Of these I was only guilty of burnt counter top, which I remember was $175 (I mean still too high).
You have to admit they have got their act, or racket, together. When I went to their office for an explanation they had multiple photographs which apparently was with the intent of convincing any court of smoke in
the carpet, eye, whatever. They dumped on me the overhead of changing the carpet, which they do every 7 years or so.
Blame the economy and people not moving into the apartments.
Why I took it lying down ' I was too caught up with other things, which usually is the case when you are moving. But from what I gathered I could have easily taken them to a small claims court.
But what is more interesting is the reason why we moved out. It was due to a noisy neighbour, whom we nicknamed the "drummer" becasue we thought he was playing the drums till one day we realized that his base was too close to (or mounted on) the common wall. The thuds were unbearable. What was more unbearable was the total apathy with which the apartment manager/staff treated our problem. They were most of the times vindicating the right of tenants to play music at "reasonable" times conveniently overlooking that I had called the police once at midnight on a weekday. Luckily for the drummer he used to stop by the time the cops come. That was the drummer's style - play for 20 minutes or so when the world sleeps and then stop. Guess he had trouble with the
authorities before. But the apartment management treated it as a problem between us, the drummer and the police if needed. They did not like the idea of being any help. Even otherwise their service was not up to the mark, especially when we compare it with our current apartment's.
It is a true case of buyer beware. Their attitude comes out very clearly - give us your good money and do not bother us, take what you get.
