We went to rent an apt in this complex and the managment told us they will show us an apt for $1350. When we decided to take it, she said that the rent is actually $1400 as this one a newly painted and many more such reasons. We still agreed as we were having very less time to move in a new place. She took us back to her office and when we signed all the documents, she showed a site map. We realised that there was a garbage dispolsal next to it in the site map. We asked her why r we paying extra for a ground floor apt with a garbage disposal next to it' She said "oh this is an old map, let me verify whether we have anything there now. This apt is very good and is totally renivated and new hot deal". We signed the documents and went to check the apt again. THERE WAS a GARBAGE DISDPOSAL next to it!!! and new management has changed the policy to pick up garbage once a week instead of twice, to save their maintenance money.
We went back and informed her about that bin next to our wall. She said, "well what can I do'''"; she cud have either reduced the rent to that of all other apts or let us change the place, but no luck. Later we learnt the place was empty since 3 months and was not a hot deal in any sense. We gave up on the appilcation fee and moved out.
Beware, a total lair management. There r much better places around with better managment ppl. While we were waiting in the main lobby, there were tenants who had come with all sorts of troubles to mgmt office and we saw no apologies or understandings from the managment.
FOR MGMT: treat ppl well, you dont know the power of internet. Its not difficult to bring the truth to people. You have really shabby place, learn to accept that & clean it. If you treat ppl like trash when they r in need and are ready to pay any money for decent place, pl. have some heart to help them. There r better mgmts out there who have eaqually bad places for competitive rents. Why wont I go there and come to u'''

First of all, I've been in property management for a number of years and it sounds like you were the one who dropped the ball by not going into the office on the day you called. The market is ever changing and therefore prices are ever changing. Regarding the location, I'm sure there were other better locations. IN addition, because of fair housing apartment communities should NEVER negotiate. It is illegal to offer one price to one prospect and then another price to another prospect unless it otherwise noted, so negotiation is not possible. To conclude, I'm sure that the leasing professional did help you and you did want to live there but you just didn't want to pay their prices. So...for prospect: learn about property management and fair housing and then maybe you'll have a leg to stand on. In addition, I hear they offer free language classes in Foster City, maybe you should take some so that you can learn how to right rude comments about the properties you live at.

Yes, the new management are making cosmetic changes to apartments like new external paint, pergo floor in dining area etc. These guys are jacking up the price by 50% for these changes. This apartment was a nice community when old management was handling. Most of the old-timers are moving out. Most of the apartments are vacant, and existing tenants are moving out. Think twice before leasing apartment.
