The management here is totally awful. They are moving everyone's parking space yet again, after having done so last February because they seem unable to keep track of who has what assigned spot (even though THEY did the assigning). This was a nightmare last time and probably will be once again. And this winter they seem to have turned down the hot water heater in my building and the hot water runs out very early in the morning -- you never know whether you will get a hot shower or a cold one, as a result. To me, hot water is basic and if they can't even provide that, I'm out of here.
Residents pay for trash, sewer and water and single people end up subsidizing families because nothing is actually metered or measured. And everyone in the complex ends up subsidizing the cheapskate creeps who don't live in the complex, but drive in and dump trunkloads of garbage in the dumpsters, which are not locked up (I've counted at least a half dozen regulars who do this -- I hope there's a special place in hell for them).
They raised the sewer charge several months ago with no warning and no explanation -- it now costs me (a single person in a one bedroom, one bath) about $23 a month just for sewer charges, which seems pretty outrageous. Total bill for water, serwer and trash is over $50 a month -- something to keep in mind when comparing rents at other places that include these at no extra charge.
They gave us absolutely no warning when they renovated the interiors last year -- none. We just walked out into a bombed-out looking hallway one day. Then a couple of days later they put up a notice dated the day the work started (like we hadn't noticed by then!). When they resurfaced the parking lots they made everyone get out of the parking lots on the same day (forcing everyone to have to find street parking at once when this can be difficult normally). Of course the contractors didn't even touch more than one parking lot the first day, so the rest of us were inconvenienced for nothing.
I was hopeful when the place was sold last Nov. to a new owner (a REIT that specializes in apartments) but they hired the terrible managers from the previous management co. and kept them on. Just when you think it can't get any worse here, it does. Good luck to the new owner when they try to raise the rents which, as a value-added REIT they are doubtless planning to do. They'll need it!

I am sorry you had such a nightmare experience, however the same crappy management was not kept on once the transfer of ownership was complete & no changes in the parking are pending
