How rude are you people? Do you know how much time and effort they have put into this place to make it better? Potted plants are fine if they are on only your patio and not hanging over. If a child walks by your patio and it falls on her, who's held liable? If they are in any way blocking the entrance to your apartment and the fire department needs to get in, it's a fire hazard. They don't leave early and get in late: I've seen them in there at 7:30 at night and before I leave for work in the morning (8:15ish!) Give them a break, they work for a living just like the rest of us. Are you 100% perfect in everything you do every day? I THINK NOT!!

I could not agree more! I mean, what kind of apartment complex calls and leaves you threatening messages because you have potted plants?! I mean, they show up at least 10 minutes late in the morning and leave at least 10 minutes early at night. That adds up to a minimum of roughly 122 hours/year that the office is closed when it is supposed to be open! Oh...and my potted plants are sitting nicely on the balcony and not going to just fall off out of nowhere on top of some kid. I'm not perfect...but I try my best to do what I'm paid for, which is a LOT more than I can say for these people.

FYI -- potted plants on balcony railings are not safe. I know -- I had a couple blow off my balcony during high winds some time ago (and they were fairly heavy). Fortunately they didn't hit anyone. Earthquakes would also bring them tumbling down. I immediately took them down and would never do that again. I think management is quite justified in requesting people to remove them.
