Hmmm. I haven't heard about the breakins. That's kind of scary since I come home late at night. I've been in the office paying my rent when other tenants have been complaining about the smells coming from other tenants apartments because they cook with the door open. I am a smoker and am guilty of going outside to smoke but I agree that others have a right to breathe smoke-free air while living in their own home. I am one of the few who smoke close to the wall of the parking structure facing Edgewater. I'd be pissed if someone was smoking in the hallways and near my window as well and see it happening frequently especially in the missle of the night when others are asleep. I agree that management does nothing to upkeep the buildings or grounds. At times this place is barely habitable with the loud booming music late at night from people coming home, kids running and screaming in the hallways and pretty much anything else you can imagine. The fact that management says there is nothing they can do is a crock. They choose not to do anything. When you complain to the leasing agents about anything there first response is "oh" followed by silence. When you continue to press them for some type of resolution to your complaint they get an attitude and act as if you've just asked for a winning lotto ticket or something. When I moved in they told me that if management had to send a tenant three letters because they violated the terms of their contract or the apartment rules then they would be kicked out of the complex. Like that really happens. My advice is that if you are living here move as soon as your lease is up. If you are thinking about living here don't! The only thing they are concerned with is collecting money. The quality of some the people renting has definitely gone down.
