I love it here! I don't understand the bad reviews...

I have been living here for about a month now and I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. Leasing staff is extremely nice and very professional. Maintenance issues are quickly resolved, I had a light go out, let them know Sunday and it was fixed Monday morning. The office staff are really friendly and always offer very prompt service. In particular, leasing manager Faustino and Digran are always great.

The building is over 30 years old and they are starting to renovate. I took a tour and saw the finished building and was impressed! I can't wait till they get to my building. Only thing is that it is a pet friendly community and there was a doggy that couldn't hold it (he peed a little, no big deal) past the elevator one weekend. But as usual, it was cleaned within minutes.

The units themselves are very well maintained. When I moved in there was fresh paint and new carpet, everything spotless. The walls are a bit thin, but nothing you wont expect of any other condo/apt building. Neighbors are pretty cool, everyone tends to keep to themselves. It's definitely a good mix, leasing office does a good job.

In regards to the bad reviews, I really don't see where they're coming from. This is a great full service apartment complex. Maybe the reviewer was just a bitter person, who knows :)

The management has gotten better, probably because the complex is close to being sold by the REIT corporation that owns it. Law requires that REITs must sell a property after it is owned for a certain number of years. Presumably the money saved by Essex Corp's miserly treatment of tenants over the past four years is going into the renovations, which will boost the sale price is the complex. FYI, I'm a 15-year resident of Harbor Cove, so I've seen it all!
