The noise level at Lantern Cove is pretty bad. I lived on the first floor and you can hear the people on the second floor walking around all the time. If they have dogs, the noise level is worse! I could even hear the guy upstairs peeing in his toilet above me!! Since the complex is dog friendly, I would either be kept up or woken up early in the morning by my next door neighbor's dog barking. Complaints were sent to the leasing office with no results.

There are weird phone and electrical problems in those units. There's a radio tower really close to the complex, so our telephone line has severe interference with the radio station that the the broadcast is as clear as the person you are speaking with on the phone, if not clearer. The electrical problem is still a mystery. When we play DVD's, the brightness of the images goes dark to bright to dark to bright the entire time. We've checked everything, and it has nothing to do with our tv or our DVD player. I've had electrical engineer friends try to figure out the source of this and they are completely baffled.

I also have cracks in the wall and ceiling that I could see was painted over prior to moving in, but after two years of living there, the cracks were coming through again. I'm waiting for the building to collapse.

Bike theft is also a problem if you have nice enough bikes that they want to steal. People like to hang their bikes in the carport or even in their balconies, but I've heard from neighbors that bike theft is common, even on the 2nd floor balcony. While I was there, someone had two racing motorbikes stolen. They were on a trailer type thing and someone just attached the trailer to their car and drove off with it. Security is pretty much a joke. Some private patrol person that drives by occasionaly.

The cabinets and drawers in the kitchen and bathrooms could be upgraded. They're pretty old and slowly falling apart.

Washer and dryer in the unit was great, but the size of the washer and dryer was half the size of normal ones.
