I was actually looking for an apartment online when I decided to check out these Lantern Cove reviews. Except for what looks like a fake positive review management posted, all the ones that I read are accurate, maybe even understated, regarding the kids and dogs that are out of control at this property. (for this area)
I left Lantern Cove mid-summer because of an 18 month assigment out of state. My girlfriend is still there and I come to town once a month.
On Labor Day, we were trying to relax by the pool when 8 or 9 boys came into the pool area with their bikes and skateboards. Three of them proceeded to ride around the pool, while another held on to one of the bikes riding his skate board. I guess I was dumbfounded because I just watched. I have no idea how long it was, but, my girlfriend jumped up and started screaming her head off. The boys scrambled as fast as they could. It totally ruined the rest of our holiday. My girlfriend was upset and couldn't get over these boys nerve. Yes, they play in the parking lot, throw stuff, etc., I could go on, but the other posts cover it--but, riding around the pool area while adults are sitting there really takes the "cake". (it was Labor Day--where are these kids parents'!')
Point being; People pay not only to live in their apartment, but, also enjoy the "amenities"; peace and quiet usually come along with the high dollar amount that people pay in Foster City--BUT, not at Lantern Cove.
I have asked that my girlfriend not go to the pool by herself, and, while she agrees, she is furious that she cannot feel safe outside her apartment any longer!
It is really a sad situation because when we moved to Lantern Cove 4 years ago, it was a really nice place.

I can't believe that you would be bothered by a bunch of kids. What's wrong with you? If you don't like kids, then you should be renting a room at one of those Sr. apartments. Have you seen the crime rate in Foster City in comparison to the rest of the Peninsula? Very low. I wouldn't want a boyfriend that was scared more than me.

Seems that all of Equityapartments.coms rentals are shady I have not really heard anything good about any of their propertys and this goes from state to state every damn reveiw is the same thing. I myself almost became a resident of a equityapartment.com place but after hearing the horror stories and the leasing agent forgetting to mention a recent rape on the property we were like oh hell no!!!! They are a complete ripoff and if you rent from them get everything in writing and have it notarized immediately just to cover your ass, as far as getting the promised 20% back in equity to buy a place its a selling point nothing else!!!!!!!!! SINNER
