All I expected for "Hotel California"

Marlin Cove was the only place I liked instantly and thought: 'I want to live here!'.
That was my first impression, and though I intended to live in the City I ended up here.
I read the reviews before I moved in here and I was concerned (I decided against one place in the city based on reviews I read here).
I moved to California for work and wanted to live someplace cool and California-like. Marlin cove is pretty high end, even for Foster City.
The luxury is nice. The granite counters have no cracks or stains. Having a dishwasher and full size laundry is great. The berber carpet and the walls have a really nice texture. I find myself running the tips of my fingers along the wall as I walk about. The garbage disposal was a novelty. When you leave in the morning the door unlocks automatically as you open it, think of this tiny luxury but everywhere in the apartment.
Noise didn't bother me, and I am a light sleeper with the windows open. You can hear thudding of neighbors, kids screaming up the stairs on weekend mornings, murmors of voices, even snores, but it gives you some connection to your neighbors, who I sadly never introduced myself to. Maybe if I lived in a concrete box I would have no noise at all, but this place feels more like a villa or the houses I grew up in where you can sometimes hear life in other rooms.
As to the swimming pool I used it almost daily when I first moved here in the mornings before work, and always had the place to myself. The workout room is small but sufficient unless you use free weights and need a bigger gym.
Also my main reason for moving here was the distance to work, I usually roller-bladed to work along the Bay trail.
When I moved to Silicon Valley I wanted someplace close to work and high-end, not a very big risk. But now I want to find a place in the City. Definitely check this place out for a little taste of Hotel California, just remember you have to check out at least 30 days in advance before you can leave (even on a 6-month lease).
