Cortebella Apartments

Apartments were maintained as well as possible despite their age. I had new carpet and paint when I moved in. Each apartment gets 1 private garage. I lived there by myself so the lack of extra parking wasn't too bad until my girlfriend started coming over a lot. The apartment was large for a 1/1. The kitchen was probably bigger than the one in my house now. The walls were thin and the floors creaked like crazy despite my attempts to walk softly. (I was upstairs.) The worst part was the total lac of insulation. The living room's vaulted ceiling was nothing more than wood planks topped with Spanish tiles so all the heat went straight out the roof. It was an oven in the summer and a freezer in the winter. It wasn't uncommon for it to be under 45 degrees inside by morning. The only air conditioning was in the living room and it didn't reach to the bedroom. The bedroom and dining room had electric heaters in the walls but they looked too dangerous to leave on unattended. Winter nights were very, very cold.
