Alborada Plus' Minus'

From: -Anonymous-
Date posted: 6/27/2002
Years at this apartment: 2001-01-01 - 2002-01-01

I have lived in Alborada now for nearly a year and here are the plus'/minus'

Plus':
1.New apartments for the most part in the area, and nice to live in compared to the otehr dumps I have vacated in my stay in the bay area.

I live in one of their more traditional apartment designs and I really can't complain.
2.Service is pretty good.

Had minor stuff that needed repair and about 3/4 times the service guy came the same day.

The other time I had to call back twice but stuff like that is somewhat excepted.
3.Quality of appliances/walls/facilities in the apartment pretty well built.

No major problems with washer/dryers or refigeratiors/stoves/heating/ac/etc..

Also multiple phonelines/outlets in every room.
4.Moving from back east, find that a lot of alborada's tenents are relocators as myself.

So generally they are somewhat mroe freindlier than your local northern californian(actually, the snails I see when it rains are more freindly than the majority of californians.).

It's not like open freindliness like back east, but it's better than the no smile/no hello northern california mentality.
5.Lake Elizebeth/local park nearby for recreaction needs.
6.Workout faclities/pool kept up well.
Minus'
1.BEWARE OF DRIVING IN ALBORADA.

First of all, the complex is like driving in a maze, you have these garages in wrong places which block viewing.

Also, DRIVERS ARE NUTS! in ablorada.

They drive like 60mph in these narrow streets(can't call them streets even) and don't even care if your there.

I have called ablorda about installing speed bumps or stop signs but they have said they are working on it.

I always honk my horn at these dangerous intersections and everyone looks at me strangely on why I am honking.

Driving in ablorda is taking a risk.
2.Rent is still too high but worth it compared to the other complex's offered in the area.

I think they reduced the rent but they should try to match the market.

I really can't complain overall.

If they offer me a lower rent next time my lease is up, i'll for sure go for it.

One more thing, someone in a earlier post mentioned about waiting for benton apartments to be built, well if your moving from out of town, forget about it.

Those apartments were supposed to be ready dec 2001!!! Last time I drove by they are still under construction.
