Yo!

Disappointing

I recently moved into the Alborada apartments in Fremont. During the walkthrough, it was small, but seemed new and promising. Upon moving in, I noticed that it is in fact not new. There are many stains in the carpet and cracks everywhere. Counters, doors, and walls have chips in them and are sloppily painted over. Not to mention the space is too small for the asked price. I didn't notice it at first, but there is hardly any storage room in the kitchen. The cabinets are shallow and short. Some are so narrow I don't even know what to put in there. The ceilings and floors are thin and I can always hear my neighbors. I feel like I'm living in a dorm room again.

To get in you have to go through a gate. However, there is no code you have to punch in - you get a card and have to hold it against a plate. It's very inconvenient when you want guests over (they can look you up and call your home phone, and you can press a button to let them in - but what if you don't hear the phone ring') or if you lose your card. Also, the gate malfunctions frequently. The card reader didn't work a few days ago and I was stranded until someone else left and opened the gate to get out (there's only one way to get in). You can get a remote, but have to buy a $25 deposit. You also have to pay $25/month for a carport (there's plenty of parking - don't bother).

I also noticed some of the staff is rude. One girl is the epitomy of a dumb blonde. They don't seem to care about your problems.

On the plus side, they offer garages. The one I have is double the size of my old storage unit for the same price, and it's accessible 24 hours a day. Good news for dog owners, they allow pets up to 100 lbs. They also have two heated pools and a 24-hour gym (though I haven't been there yet).

In conclusion, the place is way overpriced. I can't wait to move out.
