Great for single persons From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 1/24/2003 Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003   When I moved out of the Bay Area in April 2001 the prices for apartments were over $1300 for 1br and there were no vacancies. When I decided to return in April of 2002, I called every apartment listing in the Fremont area. Countrywood was not the best rental rate, however they had the best office manager and office staff that answered my numerous questions and were absolutely wonderful when I met them in person. I spent 3 months reviewing places. While the rent was more than I wanted to spend and the apartment was smaller than I was living in out of the area, I took a chance. I am a perfectionist. I have contacted the office for numerous maintenance calls and the staff has been absolutely awesome about responding immediately! They have never thought any request was ridiculous nor have they ever said no to helping me resolve an issue. Oh and as for the bathroom outlet issue mentioned in another review, I solved that problem with a $2 dual plug from Orchard Supply. I actually think it is a great idea that you have to turn on the extra heat lamp to use the outlet. I have the piece of mind that if I turned the light off, I could not have left the curling iron on all day long!! The complex is quiet. My neighbors are nice. In my last place, I never even met my neighbors until the week I was moving out! There is limited parking on site, however right across the way there is a huge empty parking lot which is a great and convenient location for guests to part. If you are looking for a great place to live and are the type who needs an office staff who is helpful and always warm when they greet you, Countrywood is a great place to live.
