Crossroads Village Apartments

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 2/2/2005 Years at this apartment: 1997 - 2002   I lived (oops, I mean existed) here for 5 years (1997-2002) because it was cheaper than anyplace else at the time. I left in February 2002 and boy, was I glad to get out. When everyplace else in the area was lowering prices after the economy went bad, management raised rents for longtime residents by huge amounts while lowering them for new tenants. The place is loud, across the street from a VERY QUESTIONABLE complex that has driveby shootings and domestic violence, and maintenance is quick to respond but argumentative. Whenever I put in a maintenance request, I was lucky to get half of what I needed done -- and always after lots of negotiating with maintenance staff. The whole place needs to be completely renovated. When I complained about the constant noise, I was retaliated against by both the tenant I complained about and by management (the assistant manager lived above me and her teenage daughter was VERY LOUD). When rents went down elsewhere and I could afford to move, I did -- and haven't regretted that move at all. I only wish I had left sooner. I have lived in apartments for over 30 years and this was the first one that actually deducted cleaning charges from my deposit when I left, after I had thoroughly cleaned the place. They also deducted for finishing the stove and oven cleaning job they were supposed to have done (but didn't) before I moved in. It's also the first complex I've lived in where I had to file complaints about the noise. If you come here, hang onto your wallet, bring earplugs and watch any laundry you have in the laundry rooms -- it could be stolen like some of mine was. And don't expect much help from management -- all they do is collect money, make excuses and then ask you why tenants don't call with maintenance requests (we've given up trying to get things fixed) and why people are moving out.
