I totally agree with debthunter. I talked to agnes couple times, and she completed threw me off. I was told the pool is heated when i was shown around by the guy name chris. Couple months later, i went to the office and asked about the heating of pool, Chris this time said it's NOT heated. agnes cut him off and said the pool IS heated. i went to feel the temperature, it was freezing cold, then she said it was NOT heated "to a comfortable" temperature.what a complete idiot. i was totally surprised at the "speed" she change from saying yes to saying "not so yes"!

the day i move in, the other lady in the office, Cindy, told me the car porch # IS SAME AS Apartment #. I parked according to my apartment number, the next day, all the 4 tyres were completely FLAT!!! I obviously occupied the wrong spot and the owner was mad! when i called, agnes said it's totally ridiculous and the girl won't say that..hell......so did i make it up and parked at the wrong place and had my tyres all damage. they were just too rude, and ignorant, and do not admit to any of their wrong doings. they should have paid for the damaged tyres.

Another ocassion, also the day i move in, i asked cindy couple times when is the rent due for next mth ( since i move in on the 15th), she said as long as before the 5th of next mth. Two days later, i got a warning letter from the apartment saying i must pay the rent RIGHT AWAY, else i would be penalized. i called the office, talked to agnes, she gave me the flat tone "what ever cindy told you, it's listed in the agreemnt, you have to pay right away". ok , fine, but why on earth did she(cindy) told me totally differnet story' couldn't they standardize' or couldn't their staff understand what they are talking about'! she at least need to apologize to me for giving me the wrong info.

one time i went to the office to pick a parcel. Chris told me i should go to post office, stupid enough, i went. Post office said it's indicated the parcel IS in the apartment office. I went back to chris, then he found my parcel on the floor. The other time i picked up a parcel from them, surprised to see it was tied using a yellow cable, stuff inside were lost, and replaced with some unwanted toys. i was totally astonished..bought the box back to the office, both agnes and cindy said they did not know anything.............. they never know anything..

i'm totally disappointed with that so called management team, they are just bunch of irresponsible people, bunch of crook, bunch of whateveryouwant to call... the office hour is till 6pm daily, but the office is always closed even at 5.45pm.

I did not make up all these bad experience. I'm paying such high rent and would like to enjoy my stay..but too much had happen. i will not recommend anyone to move in.

I hope the team can be change.

I think all the parking spots are numeric whereas the apartment numbers are a character and numeric. Hence there is no way you could have found a parking spot which corresponds to your apartment number. Fair enough? However, if your tires were slashed, abused or any damage was done to your car you have the right to make a legal complaint. The contract with durham green states that it will be towed if you park in someone elses spot. However damage to your property while parked in someone elses spot does call for legal complaint. You could have been towed after the owner/renter of that spot would have made a complaint. However a legal investigation could have been conducted and the owner could have been charged for vandalism and damage to property. He does have the right to park his car in that spot and get someone else's car towed if parked in his/her spot however he doesn't have the right to damage another car parked. You have the upper hand in this case had you acted correctly. I know the people living at Durham greens aren't very forgiving and thank your god/spirits/angel whatever that your car wasnt towed away to an unknown destination and sold for parts. :). You never know what someone might have done. The apartment rent for the first month is due the day you move in and the next month is due as per the schedule. If your contract states otherwise, or if you received notices which were not as per what is in the contract, contact the housing department with city of fremont with the documentation. You cannot be asked for rent before the due date. The USPS notice clearly states if the parcel has been left at the leasing office or is at the post office. Read it carefully !!!! I agree with you that the leasing office closes before its usual closing hours. You have to understand Chris has to go take care of his boy friend and cook. They usually do this to avoid anyone coming in to pickup packages etc after work. Once I was there to pickup mail from the mail boxes right next to the leasing office around 5:30 as I was home early from work. There were two sets of couples who had made prior apointments to see apartments for rent and there was no one at leasing office. I wonder if the owner of this property ever bothers to check. For the price you are paying, I think its worth it. If you want good service, rent at Avalon.
