When we moved in about two years ago, this was by far the cheapest in the area and the best location. But new ownership has come in, brought in new office people and really ruined a good place. They've made some minor landscaping and other physical upgrades and are now trying to charge more than their competitors in the area, which are nicer and used to be more expensive.
The support staff is totally unresponsive. One of the main reasons why this place has been priced below-market is because it's right next to a low-income housing complex. It can get noisy at nights, especially on the weekends. And we have friends living here who have talked about being scared that their cars could be broken into. But we haven't had any problems in those regards.
In any case, there's been a steady migration out of this place in the past couple of months, and it doesn't seem like the new leasing managers are even checking references!
It would be worth your while to check down the street ... there's still some good deals being made all around here. The new management here just doesn't get it ... they bought just as the economy was dropping, but they're determined to hike rents and cut costs!
Regardless of the prices, this place has taken a real dive in all other respects. You could do worse, but it's not worth the money they're now charging. We're looking to get out as soon as our lease is up! We like the area, so we'll probably move a block or two down the street!
