Awful and Confusing place to live.

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002
I was a resident at this laughable apartment community for a year. The only reason I was sucked into this extremly overpriced BRE owned property was because I had a week to find a place after new receiving employment, and was the first place I went to. Where to start with the complaints I have with this place' First off the entire complex is (and its other BRE owned complex across the street) are INSULTINGLY overpriced. I got fooled into a year long lease for a two bedroom one bath that looked like it was furnished by particle board gotten from the Fremont swap-meet. In addition the owners of the complex are so cheap they make residences pay $40 a month for sewage. WTF'! You think for the ransom residents are required to fork over per month the least the management could do is haul away your excriment. In regard to the confusing sentament I expressed in the summary, this mainly has to do with the rediculous warning that was received by all teneants in the spring of 2002. The mock "alert" was a copied printout from CNN alerting everyone that "terrorists" where supposedly targeting apartment complexes. Perhaps I would have felt more secure if the management spent its time hiring a new security team to watch the complex after hours (they fired the previous ones, and never bothered to rehire anybody) than printing out insultingly simple and completly obscure warnings that everybody was already aware of anyways. Or at least spent the time and manpower that was wasted making copys picking up the trash in my stairwell that sat for weeks at a time.
The managment made an offer to renew my overpriced lease with all the negotiation savvy of a corpse floating down the Mississippi. The initial offer was for $1650 ($150 less than what I was currently paying) for another year at this laughable place. Little did they realize that any of their residents would be intelligent enough to call down and get a quote for as if I was a person off the street.. When I did this a day after I got the $1650 offer I was told $1400 for the EXACT SAME PLACE. Shame on YOU Sun Pointe Village and your nasty price fixing tactics.
You would think that greedy landlords would feel bad about overpricing their tenants, and cut them a break to renew their lease, but oh no not in the case of Sun Pointe Village. And as a final last insult to injury, I was overcharged on the security depoist upon leaving (and the last months sewage bill to boot). Did I leave the apartment filthy' You bet I did. In fact this was the only aparment I have not gotten back my full depoist back let alone being charged extra. Why' I felt it as my civic duty to leave this LAUGHABLE OVERPRICED and INSULTINGLY MANAGED crapfest as dirty as possible.
If your looking for a place in Fremont and like to have your money and intelligence deplented, by all means sign a multi-year lease with Sun Point Village or another BRE property, else you can find a much nicer place for half the price of this awful apartment community.
